Gavin Smith sends out Tartan Queen in Race 2. She was slow into stride over 1100m last time but stayed on nicely to finish fourth.

It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since.

The daughter of William Longsword will love the extra furlong on offer and with luck from the widest draw, she should win in a field of this nature.

Komesans Passion, who also hails from the Gavin Smith stable, takes her place in Race 7.

She showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1200m on this course. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish.

The daughter of Willow Magic has dropped to a competitive rating and she may be the one to side with.

Jockey Calvin Habib, who had a good day in KwaZulu Natal on Sunday when winning the World Pool Moment Of The Day Gr1 Champion Stakes on VJ’s Angel, will retain the rides on both Tartan Queen and Komesans Passions for the Gavin Smith Stable.
