The particulars being that he failed to ride JOSI MO out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards and prejudiced his chances of obtaining third place in the opening race at Fairview on 21 July 2023.
Jockey Ashby pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge.
The Inquiry Board, after considering the evidence presented and all mitigating and aggravating factors, which included Jockey Ashby’s record of contraventions of this Rule, determined that Jockey Ashby be suspended from riding in races for a period of twenty-eight (28) days.
Jockey Ashby waived his Right of Appeal and was granted permission to take his suspension dates from 09/08/2023 – 05/09/2023, both dates inclusive.
