Fairview – R3 Million Pick 6 Pool Expected Today

First race is off at 12h30

Racing is on the turf track at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon. There is a R500 000 Pick 6 carryover with a likely pool of R3 million.

The first is due off at 12h30.

The feature race on the card is the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes at 16h00. Three Rocks looks a potential exotic banker.

The daughter of Heavenly Blue rallied late when second in her last start on the polytrack. Unbeaten in her three starts over today’s track and trip, she can register her eighth victory here.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Gavin Smith sends out Kingdundee in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the programme. He was given a peach of a ride when winning the Listed Dahlia Plate, over this course and distance.

He has been gelded since that outing which may have been what he needed. He is the class horse in this contest and if not in need of the run, he should take a power of beating.

Evies First from the Juan Nel stable takes his place in Race 5. He has fair recent form lines to his name. He was reported to be distressed after his last outing.

It must be noted that Cruise Control has come out and finished fourth in a Grade 1 since. He has won twice and finished second three times from seven starts over this course and distance. He is a horse with ability and Denis Schwarz may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Jockey Eldin Webber is not riding today.
