Fairview Pick 6 Could Hit R3 Million Today – Now Moved To Poly!

First race is off at 12h40

A rare off-weekend Pick 6 carryover boosts today’s Fairview Pick 6 pool. And we have just heard that the programme has been switched from turf to the polytrack!

We don’t always understand the rationale behind the way the racing powers-that-be allocate carryover monies, but the R500 000 injection could take the popular exotic pool to R3 million and beyond. Certainly worth a dip!

Eight races are carded with two feature races including the Listed East Cape Guineas and the Listed East Cape Sprint Cup.

The free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge is available today.

Shannon Devoy will not be taking up his engagements and the first is due off at 12h40.

Trainer Alan Greeff saddles Cliff Top in the Listed East Cape Sprint Cup. He stayed on strongly when second over 1000m on this course last time. He was super-impressive when winning his penultimate outing over this course and distance. He comes into this contest well-weighted and should be the horse to beat with home ground advantage.

Dame Of Flames from the Gavin Smith stable may be the horse to close off the meeting. She ran a good race when second over this course and distance last time. She finished 2.6 lengths behind Pam’s Princess in her penultimate run. She should have finished closer that day and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today.

That should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is drawn out wide in barrier ten but gets the services of S’manga Khumalo who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
