Fairview – New Race Times

Wet patch causes concern

Racing at Fairview today was delayed for an hour while the false rail was moved to avoid horses having race on turf the jockeys said was dangerous.

Following the running of Race 1 at the Port Elizabeth circuit, the riders lodged a protest about patches on the outside of the turf track between the 400m and 200m posts.

After a course inspection, it was decided to move the false rail inwards – from the 9m measurement to 3.5m – to avoid runners being thrown out onto the outside stretch of the straight deemed unsafe.

The new race times are:

Race 2: 13:40

Race 3: 14:10

Race 4: 14:40

Race 5: 15:10

Race 6: 15.40

Race 7: 16:10

Race 8: 16:40

Race 9: 17:10

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
