Fairview Kicks Off Local Double-Header

First race is off at 12h25

It’s a bumper Friday for local racing fans with Fairview and Turffontein racemeetings carded.

Fairview plays host to an eight-race programme on the polytrack this afternoon.

The main event of the day is the Non-Black Type November Stakes which is run over 1400m.

The first is due off at 12h25. Don’t forget to register your Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge entry no later than five minutes before the first!

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Gavin Smith sends out Khaya’s Hope in Race 7 and he is the possible Pick 6 banker.

He showed a good turn of foot when winning his last start over 1200m on the turf. He has won three times and finished second once from five starts over this distance. He is no stranger to carrying top weight and if this run has not come soon, he should take a power of beating.

Zig Zag from the Cliffie Miller stable takes his place in Race 5. He showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 2200m on this course.

Despite racing wide around the turn, the way he stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

He finished 1.75 lengths behind Peace In Our World that day. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

With a decent pace up front, he can return to winning ways.
