The return to action today of the undefeated East Cape Nursery winner Viking Moon should be one of the highlights of a competitive eight race programme on the Fairview polytrack.

The son of Vercingetorix has not run in five months and since beating subsequently crowned East Cape Champion Juvenile Hooves Of Troy to win the Listed East Cape Nursery – which was switched late to the all-weather.

He runs in the second , his first time over 1400m, and trainer Alan Greeff says ‘he should run well’.

The false rail is 3m out at the 421m mark.

Jockey MJ Byelveld has been booked off on medical grounds and will not be riding.
