Emperors Palace Breeze-Up Sale For November

Pencil in Charity Mile weekend

The renewal of the powerhouse association between respective industry leaders Bloodstock South Africa and Emperors Palace has seen the announcement this week of the Emperors Palace Breeze-Up Sale to be held in Johannesburg on Sunday 4 November.

An award-winning hospitality and gaming resort, Emperors Palace, has played a key role in sales support and race sponsorship in partnership with South Africa’s leading Thoroughbred Auction House, Bloodstock South Africa (BSA) and the new sale – being held at the TBA Sales Complex in Germiston a day after the running of the Charity Mile raceday at Turffontein – has been welcomed by breeders and buyers.

BSA is the Sales division of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association of South Africa, which celebrates the remarkable milestone of a century of representing the interests of all South African breeders in 2020.

The Emperors Palace November Breeze-Up Sale is timed to provide an ideal pin-hook opportunity and the BSA Cape Yearling Sale to be held at the Mistico Equestrian Centre in Paarl on Sunday 25 February could be the perfect platform to launch an investment strategy.

There are 95 lots on offer at Mistico from a range of proven and emerging sires and Form Bloodstock’s Jehan Malherbe said that the sale, now in its fourth year, had proven  a value-for-money market-place.

“I have inspected a large majority of the lots on offer at this regional sale and there are some outstanding specimens from proven breeders who have the track record of producing winners. I would not hesitate to recommend a pin-hook into the Emperors Palace Breeze-Up Sale in November,” said the internationally proven senior statesman of South African Bloodstock Consultants.

Michael Holmes, Bloodstock South Africa CEO said that he was thrilled to be a part of the renewal of the partnership with Emperors Palace. “When it comes to providing five star service and world-class hospitality, Bob Yearham and his team at Emperors Palace have written the text books. The partnership is a winner!”

Bob Yearham, Peermont Chief Operating Officer for Gaming, reciprocated the positivity: “We are honoured to once again have our brand associated with Bloodstock South Africa.  Emperors Palace has been involved with some incredible horseracing events and we feel it is a natural synergy. The link of the new sale to the Charity Mile Day in which we are passionately involved, is a marriage made in heaven.”
