Emmanuel Kaknis Fined: Failure To Present Runner On Time

Given the Right of Appeal against the finding & penalty imposed

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on 15 November 2024, Trainer Emmanuel Kaknis was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2.

The particulars being that he failed to ensure that Mafiabagsthemoney was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before Race 1 in which it was carded to run in, at Fairview Racecourse on 01 November 2024.

This resulted in Mafiabagsthemoney being late for pre-race blood specimen collection.

Trainer Kaknis pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge.

After reviewing the evidence, witness testimonies, and considering the mitigating and aggravating factors, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a fine of three thousand rand (R3000).

Trainer Kaknis was given the Right of Appeal against the finding and penalty imposed.
