Elusive Fort

Elusive Fort is set to relocate from Arc En Ciel to Klipdrift Stud from 1 January 2014. In the interim, Elusive Fort will fulfil his commitments with Craig Carey at Arc En Ciel through the 2013 (current) breeding season.

The decision to relocate the stallion arises as a result of the change of direction at Arc En Ciel, with greater emphasis being placed on game by the family that own the farm. Syndicate Manager David Allan said that in his time at Arc En Ciel with Craig Carey, Elusive Fort had always looked in top class condition and has performed operationally in an exemplary manner.

Allan said that the relocation to Robertson and the former home of the late Jet Master spoke for itself in several attractive and high quality ways. Allan said he was confident that the quality of foals on the ground – boosted again by early arrivals in August and September from the biggest book of all so far – would continue. He was looking forward to the stallion’s runners in 2013/14 and onwards to take him to the next stage.

He said that they were pleased with the numbers to date and that his book had grown last season to 83 mares. Elusive Fort was a magnificent athlete and was crowned Equus Champion Stayer of 2006 He was a multiple Gr1 winner and many enthusiasts will his victories in the Gr1 Horse Chestnut Stakes (1600m), the Gr1 Daily News (2200m) and the Gr1 SA Derby (2450m)

A robust, tough and talented horse, he should be in great demand at stud. He is by Champion Sire Fort Wood and hails from the famous E-family of Champions, Empress Club, Ecurie, Epoque etc.
