Streak Of Silver The Danger Today

2nd Leg of East Cape Poly Challenge today

Only three horses remain in contention for the R50 000 bonus payable for a horse who acquires the most points in the series when the second leg of the East Cape Poly Challenge is run at Fairview this afternoon.

First leg winner Juan Two Three is not in this afternoon’s line-up so that means the polytrack’s Triple Crown bonus of R250 000 cannot be won in 2019.

But the consolation bonus of R50 000 is still up for grabs and the only condition is that the prospective recipient must run in all three legs.

The trio still in the running are Juan Two Three’s stablemate Breakfast Club , Jacques Strydom’s Sao Paulo and Lets Play Ball from the Sharon Kotzen yard – who all ran in the first leg

Breakfast Club flew up under Charles Ndlovu in the first leg last month to be denied a short head and the son of Visionaire looks dangerous over the extra 200m today.

Sao Paulo, the only mare in the line-up, finished two lengths behind Breakfast Club in fourth. She meets the Greeff runner on a half kilo better terms over the extra 200m.

Lets Play Ball showed plenty of pace but faded to 2,85 lengths behind Breakfast Club. They meet on level terms today.

One runner who catches the eye is Streak Of Silver, who will be ridden by Charles Ndlovu. A course and distance winner, the former Capetonian looks a danger and strips fit. The same applies to the powerful front-runner Dawnbreaker, who returns refreshed after a short break.

The final leg of challenge is the R110 000 WSB East Cape Poly Challenge 1600 (Non-Black Type) to be run over 1600m on Friday 10 May.
