E. Cape Horse Care Unit

On Friday 23 November The Racing Association kindly allowed The East Cape Horse Care Unit to use their day as our major fundraiser of the year. The day and evening function/auction was a MAJOR success and many people deserve a massive thank you.

Firstly Larry Wainstein and the RA for generously giving their backing to the UNIT through the day and evening. Phumelela, Luciano Passerini, Karin Le Roux, Janet Badenhorst and Clyde Basel.

Our race sponsors who we contact every year and never say no. George Uren, Mark Rushmere and Murray Finlay (Kariega Game Reserve), Jan and Kate Peskens (Algoa Structures), John Koster and Grant Knowles (Klawervlei Stud Farm) ,Ian Levitan (IL Services), Alan Denby, Len Sham and Martin Le Roux ( Scoin Shop Walmer), Deon De Villiers ( Commercial Financial Services), Wayne Agrella.

Anton Marcus, Chris Taylor and Mark Khan who generously donated items of personal and sentimental nature for us to auction.

Phillip Kahan (The Alchemy Stud) for kind donation of wine. Danie Du Randt and Steve Reid for very generous donations.

Yvette Bremner, Snaith Racing, Tara Laing Racing, Mark Wright, Johnny Johnson, Steven Janse van Rensburg, New Turf Carriers, Gavin Venter, Johan Britz, Alan Greef and The African Betting Clan for purchase of tables and donations.

Also thank you to all the people who purchased items at the auction.

In total we raised app R130 000 which is much needed for the equine population of the Eastern Cape.

In all an amazing day and evening to open up the amazing new facilty in the H B Christian Room at Fairview.
