Cape Extends Draw-after-Acceptances Test

The test of allotting barrier draws after declarations are made is extended to end September (link to story on racing page). Al’s Deputy may be the one to make the running if Safwan is not in here as an intended pacemaker.  Chances are the race will not be run at a strong gallop, but Irish Flame has shown that he can race prominently and quicken with little trouble if the need arises.  He has the turn of foot to win a slow run Derby, and the stamina to win a fast run Derby, so either way he really should win.  He is selected ahead of Super Storm, Service Ace, and Mirage Drive.
