Guru's Pride drops to a 94

Gauteng Summer Cup entrant Donald Mcdonald has had his merit rating raised from 93 to 96 following his win in the Listed Michaelmas Handicap over 1900m at Hollywoodbets Greyville (turf track) on Sunday.

The NHA Handicappers were of the view that consistent 3rd placed Sir Michael made for the best line horse, which leaves him unchanged on a mark of 93.

In rating the race this way, 4th placed Native Tongue effectively becomes a line horse as well, which leaves him on an unaltered rating of 106.

Aside from the winner, the only other ratings increase was for runner-up WEALTHY, who goes up from 90 to 92.  The sole drop was for Guru’s Pride , who was cut from 99 to 94.
