Domeyer In For Fourie At Fairview

First race off @ 12h25

Racing takes place on the turf track at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon.

Eight races are carded, and jockey Aldo Domeyer will be stepping in for the indisposed Richard Fourie.

The first race is due off at 12h25.

Trainer Alan Greeff saddles Double Destiny in Race 6.

She has decent recent form lines to her credit. She was slow into stride over 1400m on this course last time and rallied late to finish third.

She has won once, finished second once, and third twice, from eight starts on this course. The manner in which she has been finishing off her races suggests that she will enjoy the rise to the mile.

She is the best-weighted runner and should return to winning ways.

Irish Rain from the Cliffie Miller yard takes his place in the lucky last race.

He overraced in his last start over 2000m but stayed on to finish fourth.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He drops back to the mile and Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back.

If she is able to switch him off early, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h40
