Diego And A Daughter Of Silvano

First due off @ 12h30

Today’s local racemeeting takes place at Turffontein on the Standside with the first on an eight-race programme due off at 12h30 and the lucky last scheduled for 16h40.

Jockey Diego De Gouveia teams up with Alec Laird’s Sukhumvit today (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

Sukhumvit from the Alec Laird stable takes her place in Race 3 and she is the best bet on the programme.

She produced a promising debut effort over 1600m on this course. She was bumped leaving the start, but the way she finished off her race was encouraging.

She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home.

The daughter of Silvano would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected.

With Jockey Diego De Gouveia in the saddle she should have the edge to take a power of beating.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Brett Crawford sends out Sacambaya in Race 2.

He is having his first run on the Highveld. He is better than his last start against winners in the Western Cape.

He should have no issues with the drop to 1160m as he has placed over 1000m in the past.

If settled into his new surroundings, he can shed his maiden tag.
