De Kock’s Fireburst To Burn The Turf Today

First due off @ 12h20

Eight races are carded on the Turffontein Inside course this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h20 with the lucky last set for 16h30.

Trainer Mike de Kock - an impressive career tally

Fireburst from the Mike de Kock stable takes her place in Race 2 and she may be the best bet on the programme.

She is a good-looking daughter of Fire Away. She was green in running over 1200m on debut but stayed on well to finish second.

She would have come on from the run and should be at home over 1450m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Trainer Mark Khan sends out Coppola in the lucky last race.

He raced from a prominent position over 1100m at the Vaal last time and stayed on to finish third.

The way he finishes off his races suggests that he should love the rise to 1450m.

With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
