De Kock Quintet For WSB Cape Fillies Guineas

This should be a humdinger!

Ten of the twenty-one first entries for the R1 250 000 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas to be run at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday 2 December are visitors.

While the Azzie team have plans to ultimately settle in the Cape and have already enjoyed feature success this term courtesy of Kiss Me Captain, it’s good to see a possible resurgence from visitors, who have not won the fairer sex classic since Majmu bounded home under Anthony Delpech for Mike de Kock in 2014.
De Kock again holds a potentially powerful hand, with five quality entries.
Sean Tarry star Mrs Geriatrix suffered her first defeat when running out of the money in the Gr2 Western Cape Fillies Championship at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last month, and hasn’t had much luck – drawing 19 of the 21.
The field is likely to cut down though, and the barrier gate is not a major concern with the long home stretch of the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth summer course.
