Dean Kannemeyer’s Outlaw King has had his rating increased from 106 to 110 following his victory in the De Grendel Gr2 Cape Merchants run over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday 22 December.
It was third-placed Surjay who was considered to be the most suitable line horse to assess this race, leaving his rating unchanged on 124.
In rating the race this way, fourth-placed finisher, The Real Prince also runs to his mark, effectively making him a line horse as well.
Runner up Café Culture was the other runner, besides the winner, to go up in the ratings and he was adjusted to 113 from 112 for finishing a half length (1 point) ahead of the line horse, Surjay.
There were ratings’ drops for five horses.
There were one point drops for Future Variety from 113 to 112, Teflon Man from 103 to 102, and Wecangoallnight from 108 to 107.
The 2023 winner Cosmic Highway dropped to 115 from 117 while Waterberry Lane also received a 2 point drop from 112 to 110.
