De Gouveia Suspended

Has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 6 December 2021, Jockey Diego De Gouveia was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that whilst riding STAR ACT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AUNTY LIZZY (T Godden) leaving the 200m in Race 6 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 28 November 2021.

Jockey De Gouveia pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge.

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and the mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days.

Jockey De Gouveia has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
