CTS Select Fillies For Stud Online Sale

Varsfontein Stud’s resident sire Gimmethegreenlight, set to be crowned South African Champion Sire for 2020-2021, provided the top lot at Friday’s CTS Select Fillies For Stud Online Sale.

His talented daughter Third Runway (Lot 10) was knocked down to Drakenstein Stud for R500 000 to top the online sale.

Consigned to the sale by Woodhill Racing, Third Runway showed high-class form on the racetrack, winning the Listed Irridescence Stakes at two and the Gr2 Western Cape Fillies Championship at three.

The four time winner, who earned over R530 000 in stakes, was also second in the Gr3 Champagne Stakes and third in the Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas.

Out of the Black Minnaloushe mare Outrage, Third Runway is one of 36 stakes winners for G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight.

The latter was also responsible for the fourth top lot sold at Friday’s sale, with Gimmethegreenlight’s Gr2 Post Merchants winning daughter La Bella Mia sold to Ridgemont Highlands for R225 000.

The sire also made news at Fairview on Friday, where Gimmethegreenlight son Blingking made it four wins on the bounce when scoring over 1600 metres.

A son of More Than Ready, Gimmethegreenlight has had an outstanding season in 2020-2021, with his 12 black type winners thus far including Gr1 H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut/Gr1 4Racing Premier’s Champions Challenge winner Got The Greenlight.
