Haylie Martin, General Manager of gavelhouse.com, commented:
“After the staggering success of the Klawervlei auction back in July, we are looking forward to partnering with the Cape Thoroughbred Sales team and their vendors. We have been running online auctions for over four-and-a-half-years now, and pride ourselves on the user-friendly system we have developed.Just last month we broke the online auction record price with the sale of Spanish Whisper for AUD$1,202,500, showing just how widely accepted this method of trading is these days.”
Grant Knowles, Marketing and Bloodstock Director of CTS, said:
“After showing what online thoroughbred auctions can achieve with its ease of access, to-the-second bidding, and a new dimension of spirited online rivalry, we have vendors and buyers behind us for this year’s renewal of the sale.”
Knowles noted:
“The vendors’ levy of R3,000 and the buyers’ levy of R5,000 – for all horses sold – will be going towards the stake money for the 2021 Ready To Run Stakes, for which we ultimately expect a prize of in excess of R1-million.”
