Redcarpet Captain – promising youngster
The Gavin Van Zyl trained Gr3 Protea Stakes winner Redcarpet Captain is at fourth position on the log for the CTS Million Dollar which will be run at Kenilworth on 23 January 2016.
The son of Captain Al was originally bought by well-known KZN owner Brian Burnard at the CPYS Book 1 for R700 000.
With a R1,2 million price tag, Redcarpet Captain was an eyecatching joint sales-topper when going through the ring at the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale. At the latter sale he was consigned by Balmoral Stud.
The race for 3yo’s is restricted to eligible graduates of the 2014 Cape Premier Yearling Sale held on 23 and 24 January 2014 and the 2014 CTS March Yearling Sale held on 22 and 23 March 2014.
