Apprentice gets 6 month suspension

Aussie Apprentice jockey Zoe White has been disqualified for six months, after stewards found she defied an order to stand down in relation to new coronavirus-related regulations.

Punters.com.au reports that White rode at Rockhampton trackwork on Wednesday morning, when she had been ordered to self-quarantine for two weeks.

The 21-year-old was ordered to stand down earlier in the week after riding trackwork, and nominated to ride, in Central Zone 6, despite being required to stay strictly in Brisbane Metro South West Zone 2 – the area where she is serving her apprenticeship.

White, who has ridden 175 winners in her career, is set to serve a suspension from Thursday until October 2.
