Cheers To A Bright Future!

There is plenty to be positive about

Time flies and one of the singularly most encouraging initiatives to come out of our racing last season is already two months old – and growing.

The groundbreaking Hollywoodbets R10 million three year naming rights sponsorship of Greyville and Scottsville Racecourses, signed with Gold Circle in June, has already become second nature when it comes to the name reference.

At Scottsville on Wednesday, the scenic Capital City track was noticeably ‘purplerised’ and brightened with the Hollywoodbets branding in evidence.

Whilst stadium sponsorship has become commonplace in other forms of sport in South Africa, the deal represented the first of its kind in the South African Horseracing Industry.

Earlier this week, the working relationship between Gold Circle and Hollywood was cemented further with the KZN racing operator’s staff being hosted at a tour of SA’s leading bookmaker’s Team Support offices in Umhlanga.

Hollywoodbets Brand and Communications Manager Devin Heffer told the Sporting Post that the purple team had enjoyed hosting Gold Circle at their offices in Umhlanga this past Monday.

“It was a great opportunity to give Gold Circle a tour of our business, and give them more background on what we do on a daily basis. The better we understand each other’s businesses, the better we can continue the progress in taking the game of racing in KZN to the next level together. We look forward to the reciprocal tour of Hollywoodbets Greyville, and understanding their processes of what goes into putting on the show every week of the horse racing season.”

Racing is at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 1 September.

The ever-popular night racing season commences on 4 October.
