Champion Filly Could Be Headed Overseas

Lance' daughter could be lost to South Africa

Industry talk over the past few weeks of the pending sale of the Kalil family’s Equus Champion 2yo Filly Quid Pro Quo to Team Valor International appear to have gained substance in the past 24 hours.

The Sporting Post was unable to gain any confirmation of a concluded sale from sources close to the filly on Friday evening but the Sahracing.com website has now reported that a transaction has been concluded with Barry Irwin’s Team Valor International that will be finalised after New Year when export blood tests have been cleared.

The purchase was reportedly spearheaded by Team Valor CEO Barry Irwin with bloodstock agent Robin Bruss of Johannesburg.

A dual Gr1 and Gr2 winner, Quid Pro Quo is widely regarded as one of the finest fillies in South African racing today.

There was talk of a sale at the end of last season, but that apparently failed to be finalised.

The Sporting Post has approached Barry Irwin for a comment.
