Cape Summer Festival Gets Underway Today

First due off @ 12h05

Today’s CommunityFest Gr2 Cape Punters Cup at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth launches the 2024/25 Cape Racing Summer Festival Of Racing.

The first of the five feature events on the day’s ten-race programme is due off early in Race 1, the Non-Black Type Futurity Cup, at 12h05.

While the Cape Punters Cup sees a small field of contenders, the competition runs high with Trainer Vaughan Marshall’s One Stripe leading the field.

Lion Rampart from the Vaughan Marshall stable takes his place in the World Sports Betting Listed Sophomore Sprint.

He finished 0.3 lengths behind Roman Agent last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned.

The son of One World would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

Trainer Candice Bass-Robinson sends out Empire State in Race 8.

He should have finished much closer to the winner over this course and distance last time as he was inconvenienced at the 300m mark.

The son of Rafeef has been entered for the Hollywoodbets Gr1 Cape Guineas. He jumps from pole position and with luck in running, he should be too good for this field.
