Cape Sale Moves To Former Home

Ready To Run gallops dates to be advised soon

Cape Racing Sales have announced that the 2023 CRS Ready to Run and Unbroken 2yo Sale will change venue from Hollywoodbets Kenilworth to its former home at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The dates remain unchanged.

The Cape Racing Ready to Run & 2yo Unbroken Sales Race will be staged at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday, 21 October, with the sale at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Sunday, 22 October.

The move was made due to the renovations and ongoing work to uplift Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse, and Justin Vermaak, Racing Operations and Bloodstock Executive for Cape Racing, commented: “Going back to Hollywoodbets Durbanville for this sale is sensible. The racecourse has a rich history and unique atmosphere, making it the perfect venue for this event. It was successful and popular in its traditional slot at the familiar old venue.

“Hollywoodbets Durbanville, with its atmosphere and rustic charm, will capture the same spirit as in years gone by. We look forward to enjoying the sale’s festive spirit and welcoming buyers back to their old hunting ground.”

Vermaak noted that dates for the Ready to Run gallops will be released shortly.

Buyers are reminded that horses bought at the Bloodstock SA Sales and then resold at the RTR Sale in October will be eligible for two bonuses, the BSA R100 000 Bonus and the CRS R100 000 – therefore qualifying for R200 000 when they win their first Juvenile Races.

For sale-related queries, please get in touch with Justin Vermaak ([email protected]) or Robyn Collyer ([email protected]).

  • Media release by Cape Racing on Thursday 31 August 2023.
