Cape Racemeeting Abandoned

Plenty of rain in Cape Town

Cape Racing has advised that due to unsafe underfoot conditions, the racemeeting scheduled for today at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth has been abandoned.

Horses were galloped at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this morning following some overnight rain.

While the riders were willing to start the racemeeting, concerns were raised over whether or not the track would hold up for the entire racemeeting.

Following consultation with various stakeholders and in the interests of the safety of horses and riders, a decision was taken to abandon the racemeeting on Wednesday 28 June 2023.
