Cape Lights Can Brighten Vaal Meet Today

First due off @ 12h50

Seven races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon after a late switch from Turffontein.

The first is due off at 12h50 with the lucky last set for 16h25.

4Racing have advised that, given the relatively small field sizes, significant scratchings due to the venue change may result in a further reduction in the card, and a decision to abandon the meeting will be considered if necessary.

Trainer Robbie Sage sends out Cape Lights in Race 6. She ran a fair race in the Listed Summer Pudding Handicap last time.

Raymond Danielson – can win the sixth on Cape Lights today (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

She was reported to be coughing that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging.

She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this course’ 1400m – the 50m adjustment in trip should not be of major concern.

She drops back in class and Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Raymond Danielson may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Please note that Calvin Habib, Piere Strydom & Craig Zackey are not riding today.

Distance Changes – please note that races 1, 2, 3, 6 & 7 are now 1450m.
