A service to Varsfontein Stud’s leading sire Gimmethegreenlight proved the star attraction at Monday night’s Cape Breeders Club Stallion Service Auction.

Owloon Stud’s Lyn Viviers purchased the Gimmethegreenlight service for R200 000.

Lyn also picked up the second top service sold on Monday’s auction, buying a service to Maine Chance Farms’ exciting Silvano stallion Vercingetorix for R190 000.

Services to the likes of What A Winter and Rafeef also proved popular on Monday, with John Everett spending R82 000 to acquire a service to Drakenstein Stud’s inform stallion What A Winter, and John spending R70 000 to buy a service to Ridgemont Highlands’ red hot young Redoute’s Choice horse Rafeef.

In total, the Stallion Service Auction grossed a total of R884 155 – a wonderful result for all involved.

The Cape Breeders Club would like to thank all buyers for their generous support, and all stud farms who so kindly donated services to some of their top stallions.

The event was sponsored by Cape Racing and Interbet, and a big thank you goes out to all those involved!
