What a start!

Just weeks after Greg Cheyne won on his first two rides in Britain, another SA Jockey Academy graduate carried the flag abroad – this time in Canada.

After having only flown out of Johannesburg with his wife Kelsey on Monday 1 May, 27 year old Ryan Munger opened his account in style with his first ride in the sixth race at Woodbine on Saturday, in a great result for his Agent Mike Luider.

Racecaller Robert Geller tweeted that Ryan ‘sat the perfect trip aboard Silent Miracle punching out the victory in a thrilling three way battle in deep stretch’.

Bred and owned by RCC Racing Stable, the longshot Silent Miracle, a 3-year-old son of Silent Name (JPN), is trained by John Mattine.

Read more about Ryan’s decision to take up the challenge in Canada.
