Bumper KZN Feature Card Today

First is off at 11h50

Hollywoodbets Scottsville plays host to a nine-race programme this afternoon.

The Sporting Post has confirmed with Gold Circle that logistics are in place to manage delays that may arise due to a planned national shutdown by truck drivers today.

The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure has mobilised all resources at its disposal and SAPS have reportedly said that no blocking of roads, burning of trucks, or any other forms of criminality will be tolerated.

There are four feature races carded today, including the Gr3 Strelitzia Stakes, Gr3 Godolphin Barb Stakes, Gr3 Dennis Drier Poinsettia Stakes and the Listed In Full Flight Handicap.

The first is due off at 11h50.

Outlaw King from the Dean Kannemeyer stable takes his place in the Gr3 Godolphin Barb Stakes.

Outlaw King – his biggest test to date (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

He has been super-impressive in both his victories to date, the latest of which was the Non- Black Type BSA Sales Cup (C&G). The son of Rafeef quickened up well that day and drew clear of the opposition. He has plenty of class about him and if suited to this course, he should keep his unbeaten record intact.

Trainer Yogas Govender saddles Kashkaval in the lucky last. He was his own worst enemy over 1400m on this course last time as he over raced in the early stages.

It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He steps up to the mile and if S’manga Khumalo is able to switch him off early from barrier five, he can shed his maiden tag.

Jockeys Grant van Niekerk and Marco van Rensburg are not riding today.
