Southford’s Well-Related Trio

BSA November 2yo Sale on 20 November

David Southey’s Southford Stud will be bringing a trio of two-year-olds to the upcoming November Two Year Old Sale.

Veteran breeder David Southey

All three two-year-olds were sired by Southford’s resident sire Admiral Kitten, the only son of outstanding sire Kitten’s Joy at stud in South Africa.

From the same family as Fort Wood, the G1 Secretariat Stakes winning Admiral Kitten made a bright start to his stud career in South Africa with his early first crop winners including Mitch Got His Wish, Zuzan, Sicilian Tiger, and Admiralty Arch.

Great Scott (Lot 133) is a half-brother to four winners, and his dam Chilly Filly, a daughter of G1 winning champion Colonial Girl, is a half-sister to G3 Jacaranda Handicap victress Peggy Jay.

This is also the family of exported champion Edict Of Nantes and current smart performer Supreme Quest.

Welcome Breeze (Lot 134) is a half-sister to two winners and this well bred filly is out of Chinook -a half-sister to the graded stakes winners Narc and Captain’s Secret. This is also the family of G2 winning millionaire Thunder Key among others.

Last of this draft is Lady Officer (Lot 153) -a filly whose five time winning dam Even Enchanted is a daughter of emerging broodmare sire Count Dubois. She hails from the same “E” family as such standout fillies as Escoleta Fitz, Ecurie, Epoque and Empress Club.
