Bloodstock South Africa will be holding a horses in training sale on Sunday 1st November, 2015 starting at 15h00. The one day sale will take place at the TBA Germiston complex and is a must for any serious buyer.

The catalogue offers both horses in training and unraced two-year-olds.

It is a sale for any buyer looking for a quick return on a proven horse, or for buyers looking to secure unproven two-year-olds, who could yet be anything.

Among the two-year-olds on offer are:

Cannock Chase Tercenteneray Stakes LK

Cannock Chase (see #1) wins the Canadian Gr1

Lot 1 –Badgard –by the great Horse Chestnut, whose daughters include last season’s G1 winning 2YO Chestnuts N Pearls. A Horse Chestnut daughter, Lynwood Chase, is the dam of recent Gr1 Pattinson Canadian International hero Cannock Chase, and this is a filly with long term paddock value.

Lot 2 –a colt by red hot sire Dynasty, sire of three colts named Horse Of The Year. This colt is from a tremendous female line, which includes European stars Diesis and Kris, and his pedigree suggests he could be anything.

Lot 4 –is a daughter of Var, sire of filly sensations Val De Ra and Via Africa. This well bred filly, a half sister to the stakes placed Platinum Cat, is from the family of the great Model Man.

Lot 9 –is a daughter of new sire Gimmethegreenlight, whose first crop proved hugely popular. Another with considerable paddock value, this filly is out of a half sister to Oaks winner Sabina Park.

Lot 11 –another young sire with his first 2yos running this season is former July winner Bold Silvano. His colt is out of a Western Winter half sister to 3 graded stakes winners and is bred to be special.

There are also a number of smart raced performers up for offer including:

Gr3 Protea Stakes winner - War Horse

Ill-fated Gr3 Protea Stakes winner – War Horse – see #40

Lot 40 Mogok’s Desire, a top class 2YO of his year, the son of red hot sire Mogok showed a return to his better form when third over 1000m last time out. A proven performer, Mogok’s Desire was beaten less than half a length by G1 winner War Horse in the G3 Protea Stakes a few years ago.

Lot 42 Club Captain –a five time winner over 1000m, this speedy mare is a daughter of top sire and emerging broodmare sire Captain Al. His daughter Club Captain has shown top class form and has won nearly R500 000 in prize money.

Lot 47 Benbow –not too many horses have won nine races, but the tough and durable Benbow has done just that. The tough as teak gelding, who has earned more than R700 000, is as quick as he is game, with his nine wins coming from 1000-1160m.

Lot 51 Belong To Me –a top class performer who has earned over R500 000, Belong To Me would be a welcome addition to any stable. Narrowly beaten by the brilliant Lazer Star last time out, Belong To Me’s wins include the G3 Tony Ruffel Stakes (beating G2 Dingaans winner Unparalleled) and he also ran a close third to multiple G1 winner Carry On Alice in the G3 Man O’War Sprint. An exciting prospect!

Pure Power

Mike Bass’ Olympic Duel Stakes and Irridescence Stakes winner Pure Power – see #52

Lot 52 is an unnamed two-year-old colt –he is bred to be anything, being a son of champion sire Silvano and the National Assembly mare Just Assembly. He is thus a half brother to high class filly Pure Power, winner of both the Listed Olympic Duel Stakes and Listed Irridescence Stakes.

Lot 53 is Madame Butterfly –a 2yo daughter of the beautifully bred and well performed Imperial Stride, she is from the same family as champions In The Fast Lane and Trademark and clearly has paddock value as well as racing value going for her.

Lot 54 Just Jawja –by the hugely promising G1 winning sire Just As Well, Just Jawja put up a promising performance second time when finishing fourth in a big field over 1400m.

Lot 55 Celine –a multiple winning daughter of Danehill’s fast son Way West, Celine hails from the family of G1 winner Pick Six and looks a nice potential stud prospect.

Stonehenge

Algoa Cup hero Stonehenge – check #56

Lot 56 Edgbaston –a lightly raced son of sire sensation Seventh Rock, also responsible for champion Seventh Plain and recent G3 Algoa Cup hero Stonehenge.

Lot 57 Icy Breeze –a winner last time out over 1600m, Icy Breeze is a daughter of champion sire Western Winter, an emerging broodmare sire of such G1 winners Carry On Alice, Lauderdale and Past Master.

Lot 58 Racing Red –a lightly raced sort, this three-year-old gelding has won and placed in two of his last three outings and could be better than rated.

Lot 59 Counting Silver –a beautifully bred colt, he shares his sire with champions Asylum Seeker and French Navy.

Lot 60 Kalahari Queen –as a winning daughter of the mighty sire Dynasty, this filly has exciting broodmare prospect written all over her!

Lot 61 Alaca –a really speedy sort, this well bred colt won two of his first three outings –with both wins coming over 1000m.  A horse for an owner looking for a quick sort.

Lot 62 Eastside –a member of the great “E” family (as is leading young sire Elusive Fort), Eastside has done nothing wrong in her last few outings, winning or finishing in the money in all of her five most recent appearances.
