Riethuiskraal Offer Top Prospects

Sale runs from 12h00 today - second day at 11h00

Well established breeders of high-class racehorses, Riethuiskraal Stud will be well represented at the August Two Year Old Sale, which commences at 12h00 today.

The farm will be offering yearlings by some top-class and promising stallions, with Riethuiskraal’s  draft made up of lots sired by stallions such as Canford Cliffs, Duke Of Marmalade, Elusive Fort, Erupt, Flower Alley, Futura, The United States, Vercingetorix, Visionaire, and What A Winter. Dual Gr1 winner Erupt has two members of his first crop on offer here – Flaming Igloo (Lot 24) is a half-brother to five winners including the stakes placed Pole Star, while Thermopylae (Lot 94) is a colt whose four time winning dam is a half-sister to Gr2 winner, and R3 million plus earner, No Worries.

Consistently successful sire Ideal World is the sire of both Imperial World (Lot 26), a colt out of a mare who won four, and Law Court (Lot 279), a colt whose Gr3 winning granddam is a full-sister to Gr1 Empress Club Stakes winner Legality.

Danehill’s champion son Duke Of Marmalade has three lots in this draft including Lord Tennyson (Lot 65), a colt out of Listed Lady’s Pendant winner Lielums, while fellow five time Gr1 winner Canford Cliffs’ sole representative is Delphi Dancer (Lot 28) -a filly from the same female line as last season’s World Sports Betting Triple Crown winner Malmoos and boom sire Master Of My Fate.

Champion Vercingetorix has made an excellent start to his stud career, and the multiple Gr1 winning son of Silvano has two lots on offer. Queen Of Gaul (Lot 205) is a filly descended directly in female line from legendary racemare Dahlia, while Evocative (Lot 311) is a filly from the immediate family of Equus Champion and successful sire Elusive Fort.

The latter, sire of, among others, 2021 Gr1 Vodacom Durban July Kommetdieding, is represented in Riethuiskraal’s draft by two colts. Existentialist (Lot 208)  is a colt whose dam is a half-sister to the dam of top-class racemare Clouds Unfold, while New Perspective (Lot 301) is a colt out of a five time winning daughter of the very successful broodmare sire Daylami.

Clouds Unfold’s increasingly successful sire What A Winter is the sire of Fuji Mountain (Lot 149), a colt out of speedy, dual stakes winner Sarve, while very promising young sire The United States is responsible for Davey Crockett (Lot 122). The latter is a colt from the famous Lily family and his immediate relatives include such notable Gr1 winners as Coral Fever and Ravishing.

Other attractive lots in this draft include Unsolved Riddle (Lot 51), a Futura colt out of a Silvano half-sister to three black type horses, and Dreamscape (Lot 266), a Visionaire filly out of a five time winning Singspiel half-sister to Gr1 Maktoum Challenge winner Special Fighter.
