Candice Bass -Robinson saddles Gold Poker Game in Race 2 (Pic- Chase Liebenberg)

Candice Bass-Robinson saddles Gold Poker Game in Race 2 and she is the best bet on the programme. She produced a promising debut effort over 1000m against winners. She lost a length at the start, but finished her race off strongly.

The daughter of Gold Standard would have gained from the experience and should love the extra furlong on offer. She takes on Maiden Company this afternoon and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

On The Road Again from the Candice Bass-Robinson takes his place in Race 7. He ran a decent race over this distance on the Fairview polytrack last time. With his running style, he was not ideally suited to the track.

It must be noted that Vegas Gold has come out and won again since. He finished 2.25 lengths behind Ragnar Lothbrok in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Vercingetorix will be mowing down the frontrunners.
