Brands Step In For Met

Efforts to develop long-term relationships

Cape Racing will welcome new premium partners to the running of the World Sport Betting Cape Town Met 2022.

In the countdown to the big race, the sport is celebrating the return of premium brands to sponsorship in horseracing. Much work has been done behind the scenes to create offerings to attract commercial partners, and the rewards are now being reaped.

Cape Racing are welcoming Distell (Pongracz), Peninsula Beverages (Schweppes) and Heineken, all of whom will be executing exciting activations at the Met as well as the City of Cape Town who are joining as a supporting partner.

Donovan Everitt, Commercial, Events and Marketing at Cape Racing, says that the commercial team involved in racing have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop the offerings for sponsors, and that attracting big consumer facing brands such as these to the sport, is a significant move in the right direction.

“There is now a stronger focus on working together with brands within a business partnership framework, rather than just seeing them as sponsors. If you work together to achieve each roleplayer’s objectives, people remain involved for longer and develop long-term relationships.”
