Botes Flyer Looks A Guineas Day Banker

First due off @ 12h00

There are two blockbuster classics on a thrilling Guineas Day card at Turffontein this afternoon, with a R500 000 TAB Pick 6 carryover which should see the exotic pool reach R3 million.

We see the running of the TAB Gr2 Gauteng Guineas and the Wilgerbosdrift Gr2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas. The first race is due off at 12h00 with the lucky last scheduled for 17h20.

Quid Pro Quo from the Barend Botes stable takes her place in the Wilgerbosdrift Gr2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas and she is the possible Pick 6 banker.

She was super-impressive when winning the Betway Gr2 Dingaans last time. She quickened up well before getting geared down in the closing stages.

The daughter of Lance has plenty of class about her. She is drawn wide in barrier 11, but Piere Strydom should give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

She is having her first run for the new ownership and should take a power of beating.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Candice Dawson sends out Salute The Flag in Race 9.

He stayed on at the finish over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course last time. His penultimate run when second over 1600m on this course, was encouraging.

The son of Flying The Flag won his only attempt over this course and distance.

Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
