Bootsma Leaves Maine Chance Farms

Champion nursery heralds change in 2023

In a media release published on Thursday 5 January, it was announced that Maine Chance Farms’ owner Andreas Jacobs and Stud Manager Tim Bootsma have agreed to go their separate ways.

Tim will leave Maine Chance Farms to pursue alternatives in the industry in- and outside South Africa.

Francois Giliomee will continue managing the entire farm and be responsible for all staff.

Amanda Carey will continue as Office Manager, responsible for the communication to all customers, marketing and administration.

Hundra Prins  will take up additional responsibilities by managing the stallions, mares and foals as she did for the past years under Tim Bootsma and John Slade.

Danielle Kuttel joined the Jacobs Stud- and Racing operations in 2021 and will oversee the yearling department and sales. She is part of a trainee program and will head back to Europe in the second part of 2023.

The team will be supported by their loyal staff team, Tom Qata  and Jackson Nkomphela

There will be a smooth transition to the new leadership structure in the next few weeks.
