BIPOT Jumps Smartly

The new BIPOT exotic bet launched at the Fairview meeting last Friday is going only one way, and that is up. That was the confident response from Phumelela Director of Sports Betting Vee Moodley, when approached for a comment on the market reaction to the ‘ham on the Pick Six and PA sandwich.’

The BIPOT is a six legged exotic where the first and second horses in each of the six qualifying races count for a dividend. It commences in the race prior to the Place Accumulator opener. Fractional betting is available.

“The pools have been most impressive indeed. We must take cognisance of the fact that we launched Mid Month, and after seeding the first two pools with a carrover of R50 000 each on Friday and reaching net turnovers of approximately R230 000 and R295 000, I was pleasantly surprised to see us achieving a pool of R370 000 at Kenilworth on Saturday.

Then Clairwood on Sunday was an astonishing R415 000. The dividends have been very useful as well,” said an enthusiastic Moodley. The first four BIPOTS with payouts shown:

Fairview – 15 Nov

Net Pool: R227 601.30
Dividend: R5 120.80

Turffontein – 15 Nov

Net Pool: R292 405.36
Dividend: R4 701.10

Kenilworth – 16 Nov

Net Pool: R369 515.79
Dividend: R4 663.50 (only five legs run)

Clairwood – 17 Nov

Net Pool: R415 057.81
Dividend: R2 618.60
