Jockey Club CEO Under Investigation

All is not well as complaint arises from inner sanctum

In what is a bombshell for the British thoroughbred industry, Jockey Club Chief Executive Delia Bushell is the subject of an investigation.

According to racingpost.com, the circumstances have arisen due to a formal complaint that has been made by a senior colleague.

Having held her position for less than a year in the organisation where her role oversees approximately 500 employees, the highly regarded former sports executive is recently creditedfor her considerable involvement in arduous negotions with ITV to secure a further 3-year mainstream television partner.

The alleged complaint is believed to have come from the venerable Jockey Club’s inner sanctum – its own board which is made up of senior executives.

The issue appears certain to be handled in camera, with a spokesperson for the Jockey Club advising, “We do not comment on personnel matters.”

The outside investigation by a Barrister, which included internal interviews, was instigated by the Jockey Club’s Stewards due to “the nature of the complaint”. Watch this space.
