Belgarion – A Strike At 45 to 1?

Happy two hours of boosted odds:12h00 to 14h00

With declarations due on Monday morning, the R5 million Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July ante-post betting market has hit the home straight, with a chance still for players to find some value before the gates close.

Between 12h00 and 14h00 today, Hollywoodbets will offer boosted ante-post odds on three entries, including Justin Snaith’s past winner Belgarion (45-1), recently announced as a potentially history making comeback ride for multiple champion jockey Piere Strydom.

Strydom bids to equal Anton Marcus’ record of 5 winners in the big race and barrier gate positions hardly concern the master jockey. He won the race from the widest draw on Pomodoro (2013) and The Conglomerate (2016).

Today’s boosted odds are as follows

  • Impressive WSB Guineas winner Zapatillas goes from 16-1 to 20-1 for the two hour special.
  • Daily News placer Waterberry Lane goes from 25-1 to 33-1 for the two hour special.
  • Piere Strydom’s mount Belgarion moves from 33-1 to 45-1 for the two hour special.

The odds are available to account holders and over-the-counter customers.

Ts & C’s apply.

A reminder that final declarations for the R5 million Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July are due by 11h00 on Monday.

The final field announcement and barrier draw function will be broadcast on Tuesday on GallopTV and Racing 240. Watch our blog for broadcast times!
