Be With Ashley Today

The first is off at 12h20

Eight races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon. The first is due off at 12h20 with the lucky last set for 16h20.

Here With Me from the Ashley Fortune stable can give punters a good start to the day.

He showed very good improvement when fourth over 1200m on this course last time.

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1450m. The son of Coup De Grace is a progressive type and he can win in this type of field.

Mike de Kock sends out Pied Kingfisher in Race 3. He ran a fair race when taking on winners in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course.

He should have finished closer that day as he hung outwards in the final 200m. The son of What A Winter will love the rise to the mile and should be cherry-ripe. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Please note that Keagan de Melo and Raymond Danielson are not riding today.
