Banking On A ‘Pitcher Perfect’ Day

Turffontein - Bipot starts in the second race @ 12h30

Turffontein Racecourse plays host to a ten-race programme this afternoon.

There are two feature races carded, including the Gr3 Betway Victory Moon Stakes and the Listed National Colour Stakes.

The first is due off at 12h00.

Purple Pitcher from the Robyn Klaasen stable takes his place in Race 4 and he is the possible Pick 6 banker. He is a winner of his last three starts.

He quickened up well to win the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since.

He tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up his fourth career victory.

Trainer Sean Tarry sends out Dhoni in Race 3. He was not disgraced when third in the Non-Black Type Farm Sale Stakes last time.

He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The way he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to the mile.

He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
