Back From Wet Cape Town – Gavin Aims To Reach Far

The Vaal Classic Course plays host to an eight-race programme this afternoon.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h25.

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren sends out Far Reaching in Race 2. She took on winners in her last start over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course.

It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.

With pilot Gavin Lerena aboard, and back from riding a winner in the wet at Hollywoodbets Durbanville 24 hours earlier, Far Reaching should enjoy the extra distance on offer and back in Maiden Company, she should be involved at the finish.

Beguiling from the Phillip Labuschagne stable takes her place in Race 5. She finished 1.45 lengths behind Feeling Groovy last time.

She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

She carries a light mass of 49kgs and with luck in running, she can notch up her second-career victory.
