Snitzel Bids For Fourth Title

Pierro is A$560 000 behind

The race for Australia’s 2019/20 Champion Sire’s title has been exceptionally competitive, with five stallions heading the Premiership table at various times since October.

Since three-time Arrowfield Champion Snitzel took over the top spot on 11 April, when Splintex became his one hundredth stakes-winner on the second day of The Championships, he has steadily extended his lead.

Now, after racing on 10 May, he has a break of A$560 000 on Pierro, with a further A$658,000 back to I Am Invincible.

A run of 29 wins in 29 days has added more than A$900 000 to Snitzel’s prizemoney as well as another new stakes-winner.

That gives him 15 stakes-winners this season, ahead of Pierro & I Am Invincible, each with eleven.

Snitz took out the A$120,000 Gosford RC Takeover Target S. 1200m LR at Randwick and joined Snitzel’s twentieth 2YO winner for the season, Perfect Radiance (on debut at Newcastle), Dissolution (at Doomben) and Bottega (at Randwick) to give Snitzel a four-win bag on Saturday, and with A$15 million seasonal earnings clearly in his sights.
