Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea) – lot 60 was in major demand

Australian breds fetched the serious money at the Emperors Palace Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale held at the Inanda Club in Sandton on Sunday, accounting for five of the top six lots.

Joint top price was the R2 million paid by KZN owner Brian Burnard for a Myboycharlie(Ire) filly (# 115), while Mayfair Speculators paid the same for the sale’s talking horse, a Lonhro (Aus) colt (# 60).

The sale, held at the fashionable inner city venue, grossed an aggregate of R 36 065 000, with an average of R 225 406 and a median of R 110 000.

160 of the 199 catalogued lots were sold.
