Internationally renowned as the home of fine wines and fast horses, and a landmark on the R44 that connects the historic towns of Stellenbosch and Somerset West, the magnificent Avontuur Estate will host a unique ‘Art & Equus Exhibition’ from 12 January to 13 February 2022.
The time-honoured vineyards of Avontuur Estate have been producing quality wine grapes for over a century and their world-class range of award-winning wines and champion racehorses proudly carry the flag of a destination that is spoken of with admiration across the globe.
The Art & Equus Exhibition will be a popular port of call during the Cape’s Sizzling Summer Season, and with the highlight calendar drawcards of the WSB Cape Town Met on 29 January and the CTS Cape Premier Yearling Sale on 6 February, interest amongst local and international horse and art-lovers, as well as racing fans, is building.
Participating artists include Riaan Van Zyl, Tarryn Stebbing and Robin Kutinyu, while the internationally acclaimed racing photographer Liesl King, Equus Champion photographer Candiese Lenferna and local lensman Chase Liebenberg, will showcase their individual thoroughbred trademark in what will be a feast for the eyes, heart and soul.
The trademark eclectic Avontuur blend of horses and wines will be celebrated against a backdrop of fine wine and fabulous food in the intimate gallery space at the Avontuur Wine Estate, where a spectacular range of equestrian art will be showcased.
The ‘Art & Equus Exhibition’ will play host to fine art, illustrated works, photography and sculpture, in a celebration of the beauty and majesty of a beloved animal that has enthralled millions, inspired bestsellers, changed lives and won wars.
