After a remarkable season where he maintained a 30% win strike rate and rode 6 Gr1 winners, Anton Marcus is expected to be out of action for two months.
He goes in for an operation on Thursday to have a plate removed from his wrist and tendon cut away from his elbow.
Crack heavyweight rider Bernard Fayd’Herbe is another man who will be out of action. He has been booked off for a month.
A routine medical check on Tuesday revealed signs of concussion, and as a precaution he has been booked off until August 28.
Tabnews report that problem is a cumulative one, and doesn’t relate to any single incident.
“It’s a shame to start the new season on the back foot, but you obviously can’t take any chances with head injuries. I’m just glad this was picked up now, before any further damage was done” concluded a relieved Fayd’Herbe.
